Let's shed a light on friendships and NVLD! Of course, the normal ways like school, clubs, extracurricular activities, classes outside school for your hobbies, etc., still work as options for social outlets, but the thought of being in social situations is nerve-wracking and can cause anxiety. Between being nervous to say the wrong thing or sound stupid, not knowing whether or not the other person wants to talk to you because body language is another difficulty, not being able to read facial expressions or hand gestures because it's hard to tell, this makes it discouraging to keep pursuing potential friendships when it doesn't work out. Another part of that is whether or not you're an introvert or extrovert.
For example, I'm an introvert, so I prefer being on my own most of the time. There are times I wish I was more open to taking steps in making friends, but there's an extra layer of nerves. Most recently, I've found that social media can be a good place to find others like me. Recently, I've found that making a Facebook group helps to combat this fear to find and make friends who have NVLD. NeVerLanD Clubhouse | Facebook Feel free to check it out and join if you're 13-25 with NVLD! It's been taking time to build, but recently there has been activity from other members. This is exciting to see because I want to build a community that feels like a safe space for teens and young adults with NVLD to put themselves out there to make friends! Comment down below your thoughts on finding friends when you have NVLD!

I don't have NVLD but I am an introvert so do understand the struggle to some extent! I think your facebook group is such a good idea to connect with other people! Look forward to more updates!
