Following last week's post NVLD Lesson #4 (Remembering your wins) - Julie's NeVerLanD (juliesneverland.com) I want to talk about the importance of how far you've come from a difficult time. Not only is it important to remember your wins, it's also important to remember how far you've come. In my case, I need to put more focus on how far I've come from being diagnosed with Nonverbal Learning Disorder.
In the spirit of being open and honest, when I was first diagnosed with this learning disorder, I didn't want to deal with it. All I knew about it were the struggles that would last a lifetime. Once I learned more about it, I realized that it's something you can overcome and turn the struggles into triumphs. My personal experience has included being around people and learning to be social like talking to people behind the counter at the store, trying out a club to be around people my age, talking on the phone to get an interview for a job I wanted, finding horseback riding and not wanting to give up when things get tough, making meals in the kitchen, creating a Facebook group to make friends and share my experiences NeVerLanD Clubhouse | Facebook, working on publishing a book to be the voice that says "You're going to be okay despite having this learning disorder because success is possible, and so much more! Even though I've had this disorder for a while and learn about it every day I still get wrapped up in the struggles instead of the triumphs. This is something I'm still working on and will be a lifelong lesson. The takeaway I want everyone to have is even though there are struggles, triumphs are possible, and this is where your focus should be! Comment down below your triumphs!

I love this post! I have overcome so much in my life but I am so proud of the healing that I have done on my sexual assault. I lost way too many years and I am so proud that I have given myself the chance to live.

You have definitely come a very long way! I recently watched a TedTalk done by a National Geographic photographer and his topic was to look at life through a lens of "what's right". He was saying that if you don't like what you see in your life, change your "lens". You are right on track with all your wonderful messages!

Thank you so much for the encouraging words! Sounds like a very interesting TedTalk. The couple that I've seen, they seem to be a great way to learn interesting topics!
