Roots of Julie's Neverland
I've been doing the blog for almost two years, and I've honestly been stuck trying to figure out new content. The reason I started this blog in the first place was to show others who I am, NVLD and all. The blog is where I talk about my NVLD story and try to help other teens and young adults along their journey while Julie's Garden is to share my interests. Check out www.juliesneverland.com/ and Julie's Garden - Julie's NeVerLanD (juliesneverland.com) The other reason is to find others like me and make friends. NVLD is not a common thing so there's not a lot of information out there and I want to do my part to change that! Finding people out there with NVLD is difficult because the community is far and wide. I would love to find the best ways to reach an audience of people like me and make a community for others like me to connect with each other! I have started a Facebook group: NeVerLanD Clubhouse | Facebook where teens and young adults thirteen to twenty-five can gather to make friends. Discussions range from hobbies/interests, pets, self-care, creativity, personal development, and goals. Other avenues I've considered for down the line are a podcast where I connect with others to give them the chance to share their stories along with telling my story in more detail, books other than NVLD & Me to shed light on how it affects everyday life, digital products, membership area with exclusive content, and public speaking. Along with doing my part for the NVLD community, I love writing, so I want to become a proofreader and writing coach in hopes that I find others who want to write their story. Comment down below content you would want to see on the blog and how you find friends with NVLD!

A Facebook group is a fab idea!! Especially as it's not too common, anyone then searching for NVLD will come across your group and can join your community! You would be fab at all things you mentioned you want to do!

Is your FB group just for those with NVLD or for anyone of that age? I can help promote it on Twitter if you like!

You have such a wonderful "why"!! For reaching other NVLD kiddos, maybe you could try reaching out to psychologists or therapists who specialize in anything on the spectrum? Maybe put together a short little email post or "ad" that you could send some of them? Or maybe see if there are sites that educate about NVLD and see if they would let you post something there? Those are my dinosaur thoughts....good job kiddo!!

I’m a special ed teacher at the high school level and every year I have 2-3 students with a NVLD. It’s amazing how even as an older teen, most are unaware of their disability and how it affects how they learn and function. I find it so important to connect with others who share the same diagnosis in order to learn and grow!

I was so excited to see a comment from a teacher who understands what we go through! It truly is amazing what you find out after finding out you have NVLD. That is exactly why I do the blog, to connect with others like me. Feel free to share the website and Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/3445274525688505! The more of us that connect, the better. Thank you for the amazing feedback, I hope to hear from you again!

It's nice to hear that you enjoy reading the blog:) How exciting that you want to start you own blog! Julie's Neverland started as a free blog called A Writer's Spirit. I was putting content out there for fun, thinking it wouldn't be a business venture for a while. Not too long after starting it, I wanted to be on the safe side and buy the paid version. It turned out it had already been used and I needed a new name. After a lot of brainstorming with the help of my family, I landed on Julie's Neverland! I wanted a blog to show my NVLD experience through my posts and the about page. I still have a lot of learning to do about blogging because I'm not an expert, but on the emotional side no matter how long it takes to build an audience, just putting posts out there is a rewarding feeling. As for the technical, I've learned that you have to pick a name that you love and reflects what you want your blog to be, make sure you don't take too long when you're ready to buy a domain name because they get snatched up quickly, and whatever happens, enjoy the journey! There's a reason you decided to do this. I would be happy to talk to you more about blogging if you message Julie's Neverland on Facebook or Instagram! I would love to read your blog and keep up with your journey! Thank you so much for the feedback, it made my day, hope to hear from you again!
